According to taxi-point.co.uk, private hire drivers may benefit from a proposed increase in mileage tax allowances. HM Treasury stated on October 26 that the rate for journeys exceeding 10,000 miles annually would rise from 25p to 35p per mile. The existing 55p allowance for the first 10,000 miles is set to become permanent. This change aims to reduce costs for workers relying on vehicles for employment.
