UK / trade news

According to TaxiPoint, TfL is consulting on fully electric vehicles for new London private hire licences from 3 July 2028, with a later 1 July 2030 date for designated wheelchair-accessible vehicles. These are proposals, not new rules in force. The official consultation closes on 2 December 2026 and also covers relicensing timescales and other licensing changes. Existing hybrid eligibility should not be confused with the proposed fully electric requirement.
